This annual conference allows amputees, their families, prosthetic manufacturers
and patient care providers to network. Important information is shared,
and time is spent teaching attendees about new techniques and technology.
Other topics include healthful lifestyles, and the prevention and treatment
of conditions that can occur as a result of limb loss.
Over the four day event, individuals have the opportunity to attend seminars
covering a variety of topics, including (but not limited to):
- new prosthetics technology,
- maintaining a healthy lifestyle,
- insurance information & assistance,
- physical therapy & rehabilitation,
- coping with amputation
- education & awareness for family & friends
Along with the many seminars to attend, amputees are able to interact
with professionals through an exhibit type forum. Amputees have the
ability to interact with these professionals to help answer questions,
view new technology & service within the prosthetics and healthcare
field.
The 2008 ACA Conference is a fun filled event that allows amputees to
network with other amputees and individuals, while obtaining valuable information
that can increase their quality of life.
One winner was chosen May 15, 2008. Contest
winner receives travel & hotel accommodations for two
at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, GA, June 19th – 22nd,
2008. Two full passes for the 2008 ACA Conference are
included in the giveaway. The contest is reserved
for one amputee and a travel companion of their choice. Contest
winner must reside within the USA. One entry allowed
per person.
