Another Successful ACA Events

This past June, Fourroux attended the Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) annual conference in Atlanta, GA. As it has been in the past, this year was a very successful event.

This annual conference allows amputees, their families, prosthetic manufacturers and patient care providers to network. Important information is shared, and time is spent teaching attendees about new techniques and technology. Other topics include healthful lifestyles, and the prevention and treatment of conditions that can occur as a result of limb loss.

One of our goals at the conference is to create an atmosphere that is similar to what someone might experience should they visit us in Huntsville or Knoxville. A “facility” complete with walls, windows, couches, chairs, and staff from our offices, is put together to create this experience.

Throughout the three days we assisted individuals and their family members with questions concerning prosthetics fits and their function or lack there of. We also discussed their lifestyles, techniques and processes that they may not be familiar with. 

We arranged it so we were able to address many fitting issues attendees were having by utilizing our scanning and carving process right there in the conference.

This allowed us to show the attendees the entire process from meeting staff, offering insurance assistance, fit and function diagnosis, actual on-site test socket fittings, to physical therapy programs.

Many attendees inquired about our services and will soon become a part of the Fourroux Family. They have decided to come to Fourroux to improve their function and lifestyle. We were also fortunate enough to see many of our current Fourroux family members at the conference as well, which is always a special treat for us.
